New Studio Ghibli Film

On June 4, it was announced by Suzuki Toshio, Studio Ghibli president, that famed director Takahata Isao (Grave of the Fireflies, Lupin III as director; Castle in the Sky, Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind as producer) will be working on a new film. Takahata’s last film as director was in 1999 with My Neighbors the Yamadas. Suzuki explained that Takahata takes such long breaks between films because there “there are not many animators who can realize his ideas”. Source

b0nes:
I definitely look forward to any Studio Ghibli film. Although I have only seen a few of Takahata’s works, I thoroughly enjoyed each one, especially Grave of the Fireflies (among the most depressing animes I have seen so far - Now and Then, Here and There anyone?).

Many thanks and praise to the great trio of Studio Ghibli: Miyazaki Hiyao, Takahata Isao, and Suzuki Toshio.
